Paul B. Burris
Member, Paul B. Burris joined the firm upon graduating magna cum laude from the Gonzaga University School of Law in 2013. Mr. Burris received his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in Natural Resource Sciences in 2010.
Mr. Burris is licensed to practice in Idaho and Washington. Mr. Burris’ advising includes estate planning, probate, trust creation and elder law, as well as taxation, business formation, and business development. Mr. Burris represents families in filing guardianship cases in both Idaho and Washington.
Mr. Burris is certified as an Estate Planning Law Specialist (EPLS) by the Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc., an organization accredited by the American Bar Association and affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. To become Board-certified as an Estate Planning Law Specialist (EPLS), an attorney must have devoted at least forty percent of his or her practice to estate planning for a minimum of five years. In addition to passing a comprehensive examination in estate planning law, the attorney must also receive recommendations from five colleagues and must establish that he or she has at least thirty-six continuing legal education credits on estate planning topics within the last three years.
Mr. Burris is also an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®). The Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designation is a graduate level, multi-disciplinary specialization in estate planning, obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines of estate planning. The Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designation is awarded by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils to recognize estate planning professionals who meet stringent requirements of experience, knowledge, education, professional reputation, and character. An AEP® designee must embrace the team concept of estate planning and adhere to the NAEPC Code of Ethics, as well as participate in an annual renewal and re-certification process.
Mr. Burris was raised in Lake Tapps, Washington, but enjoyed his time in the Palouse and Northern Idaho so much that he was thrilled at the opportunity to practice law in the L.C. Valley, which he and his family now call home. Mr. Burris enjoys hunting, cooking Italian food, and rooting for the Cougs and Zags.
